Out of gauge cargo handling

A FELIXSTOWE-based container storage and transport provider has invested £400,000 on special equipment that will dramatically increase the weight and height of the cargo it can safely handle. James Kemball has launched its new Out-of-Gauge (OOG) Project Cargo Service after purchasing the innovative new kit.

The equipment, including a new Timars OH semi-automatic spreader and multi lift modular spreader frames, allows the company to load OOG cargo from containers arriving and departing at the Port of Felixstowe and other ports around the UK.

These include oversized and bespoke items that require specialist handling that very few providers can handle.

Andy Tattersall, commercial and operations director at James Kemball Container Services, said: “I am thrilled to announce our company's significant investment in a new Out-of-Gauge Project Cargo Service.

“This strategic move demonstrates our unwavering dedication to meeting our clients' diverse needs and reinforces our position as a frontrunner in the industry.”

The company’s new equipment includes an 18 Tonne forklift, which ensures all cargo, whatever the shape or size, can be handled safely and professionally.

attersall added: “With our state-of-the-art facilities and team of experts, we are poised to provide exceptional transportation solutions for oversized and complex project cargo.

“This investment reflects our commitment to delivering unparalleled service and value to our valued customers."
