Pall-Ex orders 30 Hyster CNG forklifts

As part of a new contract with its long-standing supplier Briggs Equipment, the group’s main UK hub in Leicestershire will use 30 Hyster forklift trucks, powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) for lower emissions than LPG.

Under a four-year deal, the Cannock-based company will take care of all maintenance and servicing of Pall-Ex’s H2.5FT and H2.0FT forklift trucks and diesel trailer shunters, which will be supplied in the black Pall-Ex livery. It will also provide customised models for specific jobs.

Features of the equipment include the latest Wet Disc Brake axles and strong Duramatch transmissions to reduce time spent on repairs, together with a traction speed control to make the vehicles safer as they drive around the site. 

“We have been using Briggs Equipment for 12 years now as they are the only British supplier able to provide us with these types of forklifts,” explained Pall-Ex Group managing director Adrian Russell. 

“We pride ourselves on both the operational and environmental efficiency of our hub. These vehicles bring the perfect marriage of the two. Having our fleet powered by CNG means that we can keep up to our ethos of being one of the greenest road haulage operations in the world.”

Over the last 12 years, we have worked extensively with Pall-Ex and Hyster to ensure we provide the most cost effective and environmental friendly equipment that meets Pall-Ex demanding application,.”

In addition, Briggs Equipment has also made a generous £500 charity donation, which will be matched by Pall-Ex founder and CEO Hilary Devey and split equally between the Stroke Association and the Carers Trust. 

These are both causes close to Hilary’s heart, with Hilary acting as vice president for the Carers Trust and patron of the Stroke Association.
