NAVIGATOR QUARTER totals some 110 acres adjacent to Southampton Airport and is a special economic zone within the Freeport.

It is being promoted by blocwork and Southampton International Airport Limited to provide a 990,279 ft2 employment scheme with the potential to support some 3,000 jobs.

It is the largest single strategic employment scheme on the South Coast

All 12 units on the indicative masterplan, which includes two terraces split into seven, will be designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC A ratings.

The promoters are seeking outline planning permission following a consultation due to complete in February this year. Further detailed aspects of the scheme will then be submitted and determined at a later stage through a Reserved Matters application.

Freeports allow qualifying occupiers to benefit from tax incentives up to £15 million including 100% business rate relief for five years, enhanced capital allowances, leasehold stamp duty tax reliefs and three years employers’ national insurance relief.
