Tesco to rival Ocado as solution provider
The grocer’s wholly owned subsidiary – Transcend Retail Solutions – will market a store pick solution, offering a differing model to Ocado’s centralised e-grocery picking and delivery system.

THE SUNDAY Times reported at the weekend that Transcend Retail Solutions will match Ocado’s strategy of marketing a software and hardware based solution to international grocers.
The venture is led by strategy director Oliver Vogt.
Tesco has signed a deal with New Zealand grocery retailer, Foodstuffs North Island, to deploy its store pick e-grocery solution.
Tesco processes over a million online orders each week, with 85% of them fulfilled directly from its supermarkets.
