Key trends

12 November 2020

Industry leaders have come together at the inaugural meeting of Nulogy’s European Advisory Board.

The new board met online to discuss key trends, issues and challenges facing the supply chain industry in the UK and continental Europe. Members include some of the leading and fastest growing logistics providers and co-packers in the UK and Europe, as well as global FMCGs, and industry association leaders. Top of the agenda was the disruption generated by Covid-19 and Brexit.

Nulogy Europe MD Josephine Coombe said: “The Board has been designed to enable sharing of best practices to deal with some of the key challenges facing our industry. We also look to the board to provide strategic advice to Nulogy to ensure our product vision aligns with the evolving needs of the industry.”

“With leaders from across the FMCG sector, logistics and contract packing, today’s first meeting was the perfect example of the value to be gained, with observations and insight not only helping Nulogy, but the board as a whole,” said Josephine.

Gavin Withers, director of Keswick Enterprises Group, commented, “Nulogy’s inaugural Advisory Board was an insightful forum into the challenges and trends facing our industry today, from the management of COVID-19 to growth opportunities in e-commerce. I am delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with industry peers across the supply chain and share our thoughts.”

Rodney Steel, chief executive of the BCMPA, the Association for Contract Manufacturing, Packing, Fulfilment and Logistics, added, “It is critical that all partners within the supply chain industry come together to share perspectives and learnings amidst this tumultuous year. Manufacturers, packers and FMCGs alike face challenges, and it is important to hear from each other in order to help us all succeed.”

“On a positive note our members are experiencing high levels of co-packing, pick & pack and e-commerce activity and I look forward to continuing to share our members’ perspectives to industry issues, and benefit from the discussion across our wider peer group.”

Nulogy, which opened its first European office in Bristol, UK, earlier this year, delivers software solutions for FMCG-focused contract manufacturing and packing providers and their brand customers to enhance external supply chain agility.
