As part of the new infrastructure to support the recent upgrade of Shmitz Cargobull's UK manufacturing operation near Newcastle-upon-Tyne, a review of the trailer producer's forklift fleet was undertaken by managing director Tom Macallan and his staff.

The evaluation culminated in Schmitz Cargobull selecting local Clark distributor, Bel Lift Trucks of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, as preferred supplier. A fleet of 16 new Clark Lift trucks has since been supplied, consisting of diesel trucks with capacities of 2.0 to 4.5t from the Gen. 2 and CMP families and electric machines from 1.2 to 3t capacity, including the versatile AC powered TMX 13 3-wheel and GEX 4-wheel series. All diesel machines are fitted with low emission tier 3 engines conforming to the latest EU standards.
