Refurbishment of turbine rotors at
E.ON's Power Engineering Services
arm in Birmingham is running at full
steam thanks to the installation of a
CopriSystems canopy. E.ON Power
Engineering Services repairs and
refurbishs steam turbines for UK
power stations and industrial clients.
This specialist repair work has to be
timed throughout the year. Critical
shop floor space was being taken up
with storing the turbine rotors. To
help free up space and resolve the
issue, E.ON Power Engineering
Services called CopriSystems.
A freestanding canopy system was delivered and installed within six weeks.Measuring 15m long, 18m wide and 5m high, the canopy has a fixed curtain at the rear and full width curtain doors at the front. The canopy can store rotors from up to four turbines on trailers at one time, massively increasing shop floor capacity.
