Safety barrier manufacturer A-Safe has helped metal packaging firm Impress to enhance and maintain its impressive safety record by installing pedestrian and vehicle barrier systems at the company's Merthyr Tydfil site. A-Safe uses its patented plastic extrusion production methods to guarantee all barriers can withstand an impact of up to 304KN. All barriers have been certified BS6180 and BS6399.

The installation was carried out in the production, warehousing and storage areas. The site has a total staff of 178, with 50 people working in the production areas on each shift, so safety is a vitally important factor.

David Lynn, litho manager comments: "When we were looking to replace our old metal barriers, ASafe was actually recommended to us by our sister plant in Sutton. They'd already had A-Safe barriers installed and they were really pleased with them.

"Now we feel the same way, too.

As the barriers and gates are polymer-based, they look much smarter than the previous ones, they're easier to maintain and, most important of all, they meet the stringent safety standards of our plant to the letter. I'd certainly recommend A-Safe to anyone without hesitation!"
