Conferences on transporting dangerous goods
12 December 2012
Conferences aimed at managers involved in the shipping or carriage of dangerous goods to run this autumn.
The Freight Transport Association (FTA) will run two Dangerous Goods Conferences this autumn, aimed at managers involved in the shipping or carriage of dangerous goods across all modes of transport.
The modal regulations for the transport of dangerous goods by land in Europe, globally and domestically by sea, and also by air, change every two years following on from changes by the United Nations.
The next set of these changes will start to take effect from January 2011. The regulations and changes affect all parties to the supply chain from shipper through to carrier, to end unloader.
This year's events are designed to explore the latest changes to the law, discuss the impact they have on operators and provide guidance to deal with future legal requirements.
Key topics include:
- Changes to European land transport regulations affecting road and rail.
- Consequential changes to British and Northern Irish domestic regulations and enforcement issues.
- Changes to maritime rules on transport of dangerous goods.
- Changes to air transport regulations on the transport of dangerous goods.
- Looking forward to the next two years following changes at UN level.
The events will be held on Thursday 9 September in Coventry and Thursday 14 October in Warrington.
Registration for FTA members is £315 plus VAT for the first delegate and £265 plus VAT for subsequent delegates. For non-members the events cost £375 plus VAT for the first delegate and £335 plus VAT for subsequent delegates.
