Norbert Dentressangle (ND) has
secured a major new frozen
warehousing and distribution
contract with Marlow Foods.
ND is providing storage for around 20,000 pallets and is responsible for the receipt, handling and distribution of around 2,300 pallets each week from its shared-user cold stores at Grimsby and Spalding. The company is also providing re-pack services for around 1,100 tonnes of bulk product per annum.
ND also transports bulk, intermediate and finished product between Marlow's three manufacturing facilities at Stokesely, Methwold and Billingham and various third-party co-manufacturing locations. In support of the contract, ND has invested more than £3 million in systems and equipment, including 14 new tractor units and 24 reefer trailers.
Prior to ND's appointment, storage and distribution was handled by two third party providers.
By consolidating these activities, the company will deliver enhanced operational efficiency and economies of scale.
