Huhtamaki renews deal

Meachers Global Logistics has successfully extended its contract with one of the world's largest packaging companies, Huhtamaki.

Huhtamaki is a global manufacturer of consumer and specialty packaging, based in Espoo, Finland. Its UK based operation, Huhtamaki (UK), manufactures plastic and paper packaging for FMCG goods, fresh foods and catering disposable markets from its site in Gosport, Hampshire.

Meachers has managed Huhtamaki's national transport network, warehousing and freight forwarding since 2007 and will continue to do so, having beaten off competition from logistics companies to renegotiate the contract.Meachers will manage the delivery of pallets to locations throughout the UK and Ireland.

Deliveries will be carried out using Meachers' own fleet and subcontract firms.
