At the forthcoming PPMA Exhibition, 27th-29th September at the NEC, Birmingham, ABB will showcase two new palletising robots, three palletising grippers and an easy-to-use programming package, all designed to make palletising easier, faster and more efficient.

The stand will feature various live demonstrations of ABB's latest equipment, including the compact 110kg capacity IRB 460. Said to be the fastest palletising robot in the world, this 4-axis robot is capable of up to 2190 cycles per hour and is suited to high-speed, end-of-line and bag palletising applications. The IRB 460 has a reach of 2.4m, occupies 20% less floor space and runs 15% faster than its nearest rivals.

The stand will also feature the IRB 760 robot for highoutput, full-layer palletising, which has a 450kg capacity and a reach of 3.2m, together with the strongest wrist in the industry. Accompanying it will be three FlexGrippers: a clamp available in two sizes for handling cases; a heavy-duty claw for high speed bag palletising; and a vacuum gripper that can handle up to five products at once.
