Exmac Automation has completed the
design and installation of a materials
handling system for a new Completely
Knocked Down (CKD) facility at the
Jaguar Land Rover plant at Halewood.
To prepare the knock-down kits, Exmac created a multi-stage conveying and handling system that integrates seamlessly with existing Freelander assembly lines, enabling bodies and other vehicle components to be transported from existing production areas to the new CKD facilities. Here, components are arranged with the body on a platen and packed for shipping. Exmac md Gary Sweeney is proud to be associated with the facility, especially as it follows recently completed contracts for systems to install the Jaguar XJ moon roof, roofs for the Evoque and Freelander 2, and a delivery system for doors.
