All too often, companies have to look outside when recruiting for senior positions - but not at articulated forklift truck manufacturer Bendi.
All too often, companies have to look outside when recruiting for senior positions - but not at articulated forklift truck manufacturer Bendi.
As part of expansion plans, three members of the Bendi sales team have been promoted to Director level.
The UK and Ireland has been split into two strategic areas with Paul Berrow (pictured) taking on the role of Sales Director for the Midlands and South, and Stephen Astbury the Sales Director for North, Scotland and Ireland. Andy Higham will now take on the role of Export Sales Director.
The term “Family†is very much a part of the ethos of Bendi. With Managing Director Simon Brown carrying on the traditions his father Freddy Brown introduced, the whole operation, whether here in the UK or with the global partners, is run as one big family. It's no surprise then that the new Directors have over 25 years of collective experience with Bendi.
Having worked with leading forklift manufacturers before joining Bendi, all three Directors have extensive knowledge of the materials handling industry and are looking forward to further developing sales both here at home and abroad.
Following the promotion of three existing team members, Bendi are equally delighted to announce that Gary Chapman has joined the Sales Team and will be covering the Yorkshire territory.
After spending 4 years in the Armed Forces as a vehicle mechanic, Gary joined the Forkway Group, first as a trainee salesman and then after cutting his teeth knocking on doors he was made salesman for the West Yorkshire area.
"To further strengthen our position as global market leaders we have made a number of strategic decisions which are already having a positive impact on the business.†explains Simon Brown.
“First we have appointed three new Directors in the sales team and I want to say how delighted I am to be able to make those appointments from within rather than have to look outside the business. The appointment of Gary Chapman will no doubt create new opportunities for us in the UK and the appointment of a new Distributor - Bendi Europe - will do the same on the continent."
