Briggs sees double for upcoming FLTA awards
24 January 2013
Briggs Equipment is in the running for two prestigious industry awards for its commitment to technological innovation and the development of a bespoke safety initiative.
Briggs Equipment's speed measuring tool and ‘Stay Safe' campaign are up for the Innovation and Safe Site awards at the Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) Awards for Excellence 2013.
In response to customers needing accurate proof that power pallet trucks are set so they don't exceed site speed limits, Briggs' Technical Manager, Trevor Clifton has developed the speed measuring tool.
The device has been shortlisted due to the reduction in the time and space needed to conduct speed tests; improving safety. And, by using laser technology, truck speed can be accurately recorded.
To further support its customers, Briggs Equipment has developed the ‘Stay Safe' campaign with the UK's leading builders' merchant Travis Perkins. This includes brightly coloured stickers on over 3,000 trucks with the slogan ‘Stay 2 metres away' to help improve pedestrian safety around working machines.
Commented Briggs' Chief Executive, Richard Close: "We work very closely with our customers to add value to their business. We are very excited that our efforts to help improve safety have been recognised."
The 19th FLTA Awards for Excellence will be held on 16 February 2013 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
