RHA FTA announce fuel card deal
28 February 2013
From 1 March, members of the Road Haulage Association and Freight Transport Association will have exclusive access to discounted fuel through a new joint fuel card from The Fuelcard Company.
Operating on the Keyfuels network which covers one in five of all UK fuel stations, the new RHA FTA fuel card can be used at over 1,600 sites nationwide. Many of these sites offer dedicated HGV fast flow pumps and a third have capacity for HGVs up to 44 tonnes. Members will receive a weekly fixed price based on the bulk fuel market, which could mean savings of over £50,000 per year on the national pump price.¹
In addition, users will have access to The Fuelcard Company’s online fuel management systems allowing them to keep a careful eye on every penny of fuel spend. And, when time really is money, administration is also significantly reduced, with all transactions listed on a single, VAT approved EU 6th Directive compliant e-invoice, meaning no more need for piles of receipts and cash claims.
The Fuelcard Company’s smartphone app means that drivers can always find a fuel station. In addition, the online site locator http://www.ftafuel.co.uk gives the option to download fuel site info straight to your sat nav.
In addition, using the RHA FTA fuel card means drivers don’t need to carry cash which, in turn, reduces risk of loss or theft. All cards are linked specifically to the company, driver or vehicle and zero liability protection is available as an optional extra, so there are none of the hidden costs usually associated with lost or stolen fuel cards.
The card is free for the first year and there’s no contract to sign. And, in the unlikely event that the user decides that the RHA FTA fuel card just isn’t for them, there will be no cancellation fee to pay.
FTA Chief Executive, Theo de Pencier said of the launch: "FTA realises how important it is to its members to reduce their fuel costs, and is delighted to be able to bring them the opportunity to do so with the help of the RHA FTA fuel card. Joining forces with RHA means that we can pool our resources and offer members excellent discounts and price reductions. Having worked together with FairFuelUK in a successful campaign to stop fuel duty hikes, we have gone one step further towards the solution to getting fixed weekly fuel prices for our members.”
Lee Atkinson, The Fuelcard Company’s Partnership Manager said: "The Fuelcard Company is committed to supporting the needs of the transport sector and through our partnership with the RHA and FTA, we are able to extend the benefits of a fuel card to their extensive member networks. A fuel card offers the tools to monitor fuel expenditure and usage; an indispensable resource in keeping track of every drop used.”
Further information on the RHA FTA fuel card, including details on how to sign up, can be found at http://www.ftafuel.co.uk or by calling 0845 270 1612.
1 Based against national average pump prices Jan–Dec 2012, with an average weekly volume of 30,000 litres.
