Toyota obtains Sustainability Gold Standard

The Toyota Material Handling Europe sustainability report focuses on Toyota’s factories and the performance of four European countries which includes Toyota Material Handling UK.

The sustainability report titled "Dual Impact – Together we make a difference” outlines Toyota’s approach to sustainability, assessment of key areas and explains the core areas where Toyota can support its customers and make improvements in the future.  These core areas are to; minimise environmental impacts, optimise business processes, and maximise safety, quality and performance.

Following the submission of the report, Toyota Material Handling Europe has been awarded Gold Level for its Sustainability performance by EcoVadis.  EcoVadis monitors the sustainability profile of suppliers across 150 sectors and 95 countries. Toyota ranks highly in the four assessment categories in the material handling sector; Environment, Labour Practices, Fair Business Practices, and Suppliers.

Keith Braidley, Quality Safety & Environmental Manager for Toyota Material Handling UK says: "Our customers are increasingly looking for greener and safer products as well as increased transparency on environmental and social governance. This report helps us to better understand and meet material handling challenges together,”.

Toyota Material Handling UK was one of four European sales and service organisations within Toyota to contribute to the report.

Braidley adds "Compiling the data for the report required the contribution and teamwork of a number of different departments. The process of measuring our performance has provided us with a baseline and we are now looking at specific areas in the UK where we can make improvements and further support our customers”.
