The award was presented at the gala ASDA Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2014, held at Leeds United Football Club on 14 March, which also raised £54,000 for the FareShare charity.

The award judges said of SDI Group: "ASDA Logistics Services operate three regional clothing distribution centres to serve our 575 stores. Since 2003 SDI has been responsible for looking after one of these operations - the RDC in Lymedale. In 2013, the supplier won a competitive tender to take over the 24/7 support and maintenance of all three clothing centres. The contract has delivered a 10 per cent year-on-year saving in man-hours while achieving in excess of 99 per cent on KPIs for service delivery and Health & Safety. As well as providing seamless maintenance and support, SDI is also partnering on a £13m reengineering programme in Brackmills in 2014.”
