Traigo 80 extended to 5.0 tonnes
06 June 2014
Toyota Material Handling Europe is releasing new models of 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 tonnes at the end of this year to complete the Traigo range of 80-volt electric counterbalanced trucks and boost heavy duty operations.
The complete range of Toyota Traigo 80 forklift trucks (now including models from 2.0t to 5.0t) covers a variety of applications: from stacking in narrow aisles with the more compact models through to heavy load handling in tough working conditions with the latest high tonnage models. The new models are more productive, safer and more energy efficient than ever.
The benefits of working with the Toyota Traigo 80 have been maximised: the range offers longer operating time and longer service intervals as well as various energy management solutions. The new 4.0 to 5.0 tons forklifts also bring higher productivity thanks to improved driving speed of up to 18 km/h, stronger acceleration and quicker lifting resulting in 15% more pallet movements compared to its predecessor. The new range includes a 5.0 ton model rated at 600 mm load centre – offering increased residual capacities and ideal for lifting longer loads or working with heavy attachments.
Built with the world’s unique Toyota System of Active Stability (SAS), a highly durable chassis and ergonomic operator compartment, the trucks are extremely reliable in heavy-duty operations and excel in overall visibility. Furthermore, they perform on an energy consumption level which has been improved up to 22% compared to the previous models.
Dave Rylance, Counterbalance Product Manager at Toyota Material Handling UK says "Designed with the values of productivity, reliability and energy efficiency in mind, the three newest heavy-duty models of the Toyota Traigo 80 range of electric-powered forklifts add to a highly versatile range of material handling equipment. All trucks fulfil the needs of the occasional or frequent user and are an asset in fleet operations and intensive applications.”
Tonero
Toyota Material Handling has also expanded its range of Toyota Tonero engine-powered forklifts with the launch of its high tonnage trucks from 3.5 to 8.0 tonne.
The new range of diesel and LPG trucks are designed for intense and demanding applications. Robust and highly reliable, the Toyota Tonero forklift range benefits from strong features including industrial Toyota engines, unmatched stability and outstanding all-round visibility.
The new range comes with two brand new industrial engines that have been developed in-house to make the Tonero trucks deliver high-quality performance, reliability and efficiency. The Toyota 1KD (55 kW) engine with common rail fuel injection offers high acceleration, drive and lifting speeds. Furthermore, it achieves an emission level significantly below the stage IIIB regulation requirements without the need of a diesel particulate filter. The compact LPG/gasoline Toyota 1FS (63 kW) engine comes with electronic fuel injection and excels at optimum truck performance and fuel efficiency.
The new 3.5 – 8.0 tonne range also features a variable displacement pump and load sensing power steering for improved energy efficiency and consumption management.
Hydrostatic transmission
Toyota Material Handling is providing customers extra choice with the introduction of Toyota Tonero diesel-powered forklift trucks, available with a hydrostatic transmission (HST) system as an option.
In response to customers’ demands relating to driver preference and suitability for different applications, Toyota now offers the choice of hydrostatic transmission (HST) or hydrodynamic transmission (torque convertor). This option is initially available in the Toyota Tonero 2.0 to 2.5 tonne diesel models, but will gradually be introduced to the Tonero 1.5 - 3.5 tonne range.
The Toyota Tonero HST is built on the same chassis as the standard Tonero (torque converter).
