Toyota shortlisted for safety by FLTA
03 December 2014
Toyota Material Handling UK has been shortlisted in the upcoming FLTA Annual Awards for Excellence in the safety category with the BT Levio LPE powered pallet truck.
The nomination is for the BT Levio LPE200-250 range of powered pallet trucks, focused on the optional fixed side guards and foot sensor. These options provide maximum driver protection for operators when driving trucks, but also when exiting.
The fixed side guards keep the operator safe within the truck’s frame providing protection whilst driving at speeds up to 12km/h, whilst the side protection keeps the driver’s body in a straight position, which reduces the risk of long term injuries due to shocks or vibrations. A foot sensor at the back helps to reduce the risk of foot injuries as the truck stops if the driver’s foot is detected outside the frame.
The shortlist was announced last week as judges decided on the highest quality candidates before opening the decision to the public. The winner of each category is decided by the voting public and will be announced on Saturday, 28th February, 2015 at The International Centre in Shropshire.
Tony Wallis, Sales and Marketing Director, Toyota Material Handling UK commented: "Toyota has always taken the lead on safety and are so pleased to be nominated in the FLTA safety category, particularly with such a great truck. We launched the BT Levio LPE earlier this year and are really impressed with the innovative safety features we can provide for our customers. We are now encouraging as many people as possible to look at the nominees and cast their vote.”
