Jungheinrich acquires stacker crane firm
20 August 2015
Jungheinrich has bought the MIAS Group, an equipment manufacturer of warehousing and transportation technology, for an undisclosed sum.
MIAS is said to be a leader in the load handling technology segment for pallets and a specialist in stacker cranes. MIAS Group will continue operating under the independent MIAS brand name after the integration, which is expected to complete in the fourth quarter.
The deal allows Jungheinrich to enlarge its footprint as a logistics systems provider. "With the MIAS Group, we will continue to expand our logistics systems business substantially,” says Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG.
