Major appointments for Linde Material Handling in the UK

02 October 2015

Linde Material Handling has appointed new Managing Directors (MDs) for both its South East and Castle regional offices.

Peter Daley (pictured above), from Chichester in West Sussex, joins Linde South East and will lead a team of more than 100 employees based in Camberley. Mr Daley has a wealth of leadership experience, helping businesses across a range of industry sectors to develop and execute profitable growth strategies. After completing an engineering degree at Cambridge University and a Master’s Degree at Warwick University, Mr Daley went on to assume senior management positions with Courtaulds, De La Rue and Chemring. He was a director of Chemring’s European division for six years before leaving to form his own consultancy business, from which he joins Linde.

He said: "Joining the Linde Material Handling team is an incredibly exciting opportunity for me, both personally and professionally. The business has great potential and as a team we have a tremendous opportunity to grow and further develop the Linde reputation and presence in the South East region.

"It is good to see Managing Directors being established in each region. The person responsible for leading the business must be able to engage with all of the staff so that people feel part of a team with a common purpose. We need to work together and fully utilise all our individual and collective capabilities to deliver excellent products, service and value to our customers.”

In addition, Chris Pygall (pictured below) from Blyth, Northumberland, has joined Linde Castle’s office after nearly 20 years of working at group MD level, most recently working as Group Managing Director of Lexia Solution Group; a £50m national asbestos and demolition contracting and associated services group.

Mr Pygall started his management career as a Contracts Manager in the electrical contracting industry before progressing to director level. He has worked in organisations covering print management, packing and manufacturing industries, including two ventures in Australia. Chris has experience of organically growing businesses, acquisitions and disposals as well more recently of restructuring the Lexia Group.

Mr Pygall said: "After working at group MD level across three different industries, I have developed a track record for bringing leadership, stability and best practice to my places of work.

"Linde looked like a professional, well-structured organisation and my new role with them represents a promising challenge; I’m excited to get started.”

Director of Commercial Operations, Andrew Daly, said: "We are pleased to be able to bring two experienced managers in to our business to take on these important regional roles. Both will be responsible for leading their teams in our regional offices and ensuring that Linde delivers an excellent service for our customers.”
