Lithium-ion trucks to play key role

08 April 2016

The Toyota Traigo 48, said to deliver class-leading energy efficiency while being highly productive in intensive operations, will be showcased at the upcoming CeMAT event.

The 48-volt counterbalanced range sets a new standard in energy efficiency, consuming less energy while increasing performance. These models are available with the optional Li-ion battery technology which allows for fast opportunity charging at any time. This revolutionary battery management eliminates the need for battery change in multi-shift applications.

Toyota always has its customers in mind and keeps on striving for increased productivity levels that exceed expectations. Through extensive research, the latest technologies and new components are implemented in a compact chassis. Together with an ergonomic upgrade, this optimises the driver’s experience. This way customers can count on a longer operating life without compromising productivity, even in the most intensive operations.

The new Traigo 48-volt electric forklift comes with new electric power steering for effortless steering and features force feedback, ensuring accurate control at all driving speeds. This truck also offers enhanced control with full stop on ramp and accurate positioning with and without load.

The 3-wheel models are now available from 1.5 to 2.0 tonnes and are highly manoeuvrable in confined areas. The 4-wheel models, available from 1.6 to 2.0 tonnes, can handle intensive operations in indoor and outdoor environments and now feature an improved turning circle. These versatile and flexible forklifts can access all areas, delivering an excellent all-round performance for all materials handling applications. They are also equipped with the unique Toyota System of Active Stability (SAS) and Toyota AC motors to enhance safety and productivity.

Staxio

Toyota Material Handling will also showcase its new range of platform stackers - the BT Staxio P-series. This includes 11 models from 1.2 up to 2.0 tonnes and shares many characteristics with the award-winning BT Levio P-Series powered pallet truck that was successfully launched last year. These trucks also exist in Lithium-Ion version to optimise energy and cost-efficiency even further.

Designed for horizontal transport and stacking in intensive applications the adaptable BT Staxio SPE range offers the right model for each application. The SPE120/140/160/200 with fixed support arm models for open pallet handling, the models SPE120L/140L/160L/200L with elevating support arm for use on uneven floors or double load handling, the straddle support arm model SPE140S to work with different pallet sizes and the dedicated double stackers (SPE200DN/200D) with a special narrow version for intensive loading and unloading applications. With a vast amount of versatility, this range allows you to truly access all areas.
