Accident survivor to open forklift safety conference

In 2006, Lisa was an administrator, working for a logistics firm. While crossing the warehouse one day, she was reversed into by a 2.5 tonne forklift. Her left leg was crushed and, tragically, required amputation above the knee.

Announcing the news, Association Chief Executive, Peter Harvey, said: “We so often talk about shocking facts and figures, but to hear a first-hand account of the long-term pain and suffering a single forklift accident can cause… that really puts the importance of forklift safety – and the value of the knowledge imparted at this event – into perspective.”

The event also features presentations by companies who have demonstrably improved safety on their sites. Each will describe the problems they faced and the real-world solutions they implemented… often in situations where both operating space and budgets were extremely tight. 

The FLTA Safety Conference takes place on Wednesday 29th June 2016 at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre, near Coventry.
