CycloneCarrier
13 May 2016
In response to the challenges faced by the retail, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage industries, Swisslog has developed a new case shuttle technology that promises outstanding performance, flexibility and reliability.
The CycloneCarrier represents the latest generation of shuttle systems, and is focused on automatic case storage selection. Swisslog will showcase this and other technologies at the Global Cold Chain Expo 2016.
One example is the KUKA robot (LBR iiwa) which has sensitive joint torque sensors in all seven axes. They enable it to recognise whether a bottle is full or empty by its weight, to grasp the glass without breaking it and to open the bottle by applying just the right amount of force. And the lightweight robot does not pose a hazard when collaborating with humans in the same workspace.
