Top notch seminar programme
01 March 2018
At the Talent in Logistics Conference 2018, professionals from the warehousing and storage, logistics and transport industry will be immersed in engaging debates, lively panel discussions and informative seminars.
The conference is the only event completely dedicated specifically addressing the most important training and skills issues facing Warehouse, HR, Training and Health and Safety Managers, as well as Senior Forklift Truck Instructors. It offers a valuable professional development opportunity for logistics learning and development professionals, so CILT UK members will also be awarded 3 hours CPD for attending.
Taking place on 21st June 2018 at the Telford International Centre, West Midlands, the conference covers hot topics around recruitment of diverse people, safety, training coping with incidents in the warehousing, handling and storage industries.
While delegates will have a chance to enjoy the focussed exhibition in the Information Zone, the exciting live Grand Finals of the 2018 Forklift Operator of the Year and the Lift Instructor of the Year competitions and various practical truck demonstrations, the conference agenda is the star of the show.
Talent in Logistics, 21st June 2018, Telford International Centre, St Quentin Gate, Telford, TF3 4JH.
Conference and Exhibition: 09.00 – 15.30 | Awards: 18.00 – 01.00

Specifically designed for transport, warehousing, handling and storage, industry experts will lead a range of seminars, keynote presentations and discussions to give delegates useful advice and information that they can genuinely use to improve learning and development in their organisation.
Highlights of the agenda include a keynote presentation by world-class psychologist and HR expert Professor Adrian Furnham, who will focus on the psychology behind attracting individuals from diverse, under-represented groups of society to careers in the transport, warehousing and logistics sector.
Practical tips on managing workplace transport incidents and investigations will be presented by Andrew Hopkin of Browne Jacobson, an expert in HSE (Health & Safety Executive) prosecutions. Shropshire Fire and Rescue will also share their experiences of attending to a forklift operator trapped due to warehouse racking collapse in 2016 as part of a thought-provoking session on ‘Forklift Truck Incidents – Emergency Actions’.
To help employers understand when lift truck training is, or isn’t, required, Laura Nelson, managing director of RTITB, the preferred workplace transport training regulatory body, will deliver a seminar debunking ‘Forklift training myths’.
The DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) has also confirmed that they will be sharing their plans for the future of vocational training and testing in a valuable seminar.
Other planned topics include a panel discussion on Brexit. Delegates can attend to debate what Brexit could mean for training in logistics and whether more regulation will be needed to compensate for the loss of EU law.
Following the sell-out success of the 2017 Talent in Logistics Conference, be sure to book your tickets early at www.talentinlogistics.co.uk/buy-tickets.
The Talent in Logistics Awards follows the daytime conference. The special evening event will be hosted by affable Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling, who will bring his easy-going, roguish charm from Gillette Soccer Saturday to the Talent in Logistics Awards.
The Awards evening includes a luxury three-course meal, drinks reception and entertainment and provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for businesses to network with potential customers and suppliers. However, above all it provides a chance to reward team members and celebrate training excellence and future talent in the logistics and transport industry.
