Key pharma platform to support Covid response
02 February 2021
PLASTIC PALLETS from UK market leader Goplasticpallets.com were recently given one of their most important tasks to date – supporting the production of the second Covid-19 vaccine across several continents.

Goplasticpallets.com was approached in October by a leading international pharmaceutical provider with an urgent request for a plastic Euro pallet on five runners. This is not a standard plastic pallet, in fact the specification is very rare.
Boasting the largest variety of stock in the UK, Goplasticpallets.com was able to match the exact specification with its Qpall 1208 HR 5R. Initially 50 units were transported fast-track to Belgium. Enquiries from other suppliers to the vaccine manufacturer then followed, from as far as the US, Argentina, China and South Korea, all requesting the same plastic pallet.
These plastic pallets are being trusted with the very important task of transporting one of the vital ingredients that make up the second Covid-19 vaccine, which was authorised for use in the UK by the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in December.
Goplasticpallets.com MD Jim Hardisty said: “It is humbling to be involved in such a significant project. We’ve supported the pharmaceutical industry with a broad range of projects during our 20 years in business, but this is by far one of the most satisfying.
“We pride ourselves on the speed of our deliveries and our ability to find not just the closest fit but an exact match for our customers’ requirements – and this project is a prime example of the quality of our service.”
The UK pre-ordered 100 million doses of the second approved Covid-19 vaccine; the first batch was released late on 29th December following approval and the first dose was administered on 4th January.
