Active anti-collision system

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Despite stringent HSE standards and legislation, each year many workers are still injured or even killed as a result of forklift truck accidents; such accidents can often be attributed to poor driver training, poor visibility or the operator’s distraction.

Cy.pag has designed an innovative active collision avoidance system. Available through Abbey Attachments, the SIS system not only protects the truck operator and pedestrians but also reduces the risk of damage to products, trucks, racking and other surrounding infrastructures.

The system reduces the risk of accidents during truck manoeuvres – whenever an imminent collision is detected, the system sends a visual and acoustic warning to the lift truck operator; the truck speed can then automatically slow down, the truck can even be brought to a complete standstill.
