Asda service provider of the Year

The award was presented at the gala ASDA Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2014, held at Leeds United Football Club on 14 March, which also raised £54,000 for the FareShare charity.

The award judges said of SDI Group: “ASDA Logistics Services operate three regional clothing distribution centres to serve our 575 stores. Since 2003 SDI has been responsible for looking after one of these operations – the RDC in Lymedale. In 2013, the supplier won a competitive tender to take over the 24/7 support and maintenance of all three clothing centres. The contract has delivered a 10 per cent year-on-year saving in man-hours while achieving in excess of 99 per cent on KPIs for service delivery and Health & Safety. As well as providing seamless maintenance and support, SDI is also partnering on a £13m reengineering programme in Brackmills in 2014.”

Gordon Smith, CEO of SDI Group, led the SDI team onto the stage to collect the award. He said: “This award is a great honour for SDI Group and is a tremendous testament to the work carried out by our experienced team.
