Aztek Logistics becomes second Pallet-Track member to secure FORS Gold

Based in Letchworth, Hertfordshire the company is extremely proud to become only the 25th general haulage company to currently hold the Gold standard for Transport for London’s (TfL) Freight Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS). 

Working with FORS has allowed Aztek to continually improve the growing fleet, evidenced in its investment in vehicle safety systems such as cameras, nearside proximity sensors and audible alarms for all Aztek’s vehicles. Furthermore all of Aztek’s drivers have completed the Safe Urban Driving course in association with Transport for London.

It joins fellow Pallet-Track member ELB Partners of Wimbledon in securing the prestigious Gold standard which separates out operators that TfL believes are exceptional and are going the extra mile to raise their standards and performance. 

The FORS voluntary scheme sets its standards based upon lawfulness, safety, efficiency, and environmental protection. The standards cover all aspects of the distribution business including management, vehicles, drivers and operations. 

Aztek’s progression from Bronze to Silver, then onto Gold, demonstrates its dedication to improving road safety and improving procedures and policies. Reaching the Gold standard positions Aztek as a high quality operator which takes good practice, compliance and safety extremely seriously.

Duncan Pannell, Operations Manager for Aztek, said: “We came across FORS when tendering for work across London. When we looked at the requirements and benefits of joining the scheme we saw that they fitted in perfectly with our ethos of improving safety whilst complementing our drive to improve fuel efficiency and reduce our environmental impact. Since embarking on the accreditation process, we have reduced our parking fines and charges by 33% and improved our MPG and idling across the fleet”.
