DPD driver’s motorcycle bump caught on video

The driver denied responsibility for the incident and drove off. The interaction was recorded on the biker’s helmet-cam.

The DPD driver is in fully branded red Polo shirt and cap and bumps into a motorbike at a roundabout.

The contact was slight and no one was injured but the van driver could have managed the situation better.

He denied responsibility and drove off without offering insurance details to the injured party.

DPD quickly dealt with the incident.

A spokesman said: “We investigated the incident immediately and contacted the motorcyclist to apologise and resolve the insurance issues relating to the accident.  We can also confirm that the DPD driver in question was identified immediately and his contract with the company was terminated with immediate effect.

“At DPD we take the behaviour of our staff and the safety of other road users very seriously indeed and, while incidents such as this are incredibly rare, we will always take firm action where the conduct of our staff is found to fall below our high standards.”
