Exhibiting at IMHX for the first time, AITT will focus firmly on the continuing importance of the forklift truck operator despite the trend toward greater automation.
Adam Smith, managing director of leading accrediting body AITT says: “Although automation is going to be a big theme at IMHX, for many of those attending that may never become a reality because of the scale or diversity of their daily operations.
“For them, the role of the operator is still fundamental and it’s essential that they are properly equipped to do the work safely and efficiently. A key part of that is ensuring that training adheres to the highest industry standards, especially in these changing times where technology and equipment are evolving and becoming ever more specialised. Consistency, as always, is key.”
Representatives from AITT will be available to spell out the significant changes that have occurred in the areas of training requirements and testing in recent years, and will provide advice and information on new industry standards.
PEFT
Importantly, the company will also be demonstrating its Personal Electronic Forklift Testing (PEFT) system, recently launched as an alternative to traditional paper forms.
“PEFT was designed to transform testing procedures for both instructors and trainees. The tests are contained within an app so there is no need to send and store paper copies,” said Adam.
“IMHX will be a great opportunity for visitors to see how PEFT works and familiarise themselves with it.”
As an added incentive, a competition will be running with the prize of one year’s free membership. Visitors to the stand will be able to fill in an entry form, and the lucky winner will be chosen during the organisation’s Annual General Meeting on the 27th September. Members of the team will be offering support to visitors looking to join their extensive UK member network, as well as insight into the host of services available.
