Futurologist to present at Dematic event
DEMATIC WILL host an event on the future of intralogistics in Antwerp, Belgium on February 28.

The free-to-attend event’s central theme takes a look at the Digital Age and its influence on tomorrow’s global economy and society and the related challenges that the intralogistics industry most likely will face. Renowned futurologist and best-selling author Max Thinius is the featured guest speaker. In his presentation, he outlines various future scenarios and also sheds light on the possible application of new technologies. Afterwards, participants have an opportunity to take a virtual tour of an advanced Dematic intralogistics facility as well as an online tour with local tour guides.
The hybrid event will be broadcast live online from Antwerp.
Dematic director of EMEA and head of Marketing & Communications Thomas Meyer- Jander, says: “There is no way of getting around the impact that digitalisation is having on every aspect of our lives – both at work and at home. Over the next several years, the metaverse, AI, blockchain and a host of other new technologies are going to forever change how we work and interact with one another, how we shop and spend our free time.
“Companies must re-think many of their processes, but they will also find great potential in shaping daily work routines and market strategies. Intralogistics solutions can adapt to these changes and potentially be the engine that allows the changes to happen in the first place.”
