Growth plan unveiled

Multi-use plastic container firm George Utz has started work on a £3.5 million extension to its Derbyshire manufacturing plant.

The company plans to double the existing workforce by creating an further 40 jobs at Alfreton over the next six years. The expansion signals the company’s response to the changing dynamics of the UK manufacturing and logistics industries.

The new factory extension will include more manufacturing space, as well as office and warehousing to meet the increased demand for its off-the-shelf products and its bespoke solutions – those added value containers developed for a customer’s specific supply chain challenges.
