Head of ESG appointed

DELIVERY FIRM Hermes has appointed a Head of ESG to drive the business’s environmental, social, governance agenda.

Nancy Hobhouse will take up the newly created role, spearheading several key initiatives and developing an ambitious and robust ESG strategy. Her remit covers every aspect of the business from product development to operational changes around key touch points including alternative fuel usage, industry knowledge sharing and people-centric initiatives. She will also lead the company’s reporting on ESG.

Nancy joins from John Lewis Partnership where she was senior sustainability manager leading the Partnership’s wide climate strategy and John Lewis’ circular economy and raw materials strategy. Nancy also was an elected member of the Partnership governing authority. Prior to that, Nancy was responsible for implementing Barclay’s Bank PLC’s strategy for managing and reporting the Bank’s global climate strategy and worked in ESG for the Credit Risk teams.

Hermes UK chief transformation officer Fash Sawyerr, says: “Nancy’s appointment is designed to accelerate the good work that is already well underway in this area and take it to the next level in line with our ESG ambitions and commitments. Nancy has excellent experience of driving similar programmes and will be a great asset to the team.”
