Heavy duty cladded building

Posted on Monday 1 February 2021

G-TEM, a manufacturer of metal automotive pressings and sub-assemblies, required heavy duty racking for the storage of press tools.

The heavy duty racking forms the structure of the fully cladded building. The complete Rack Clad Building is 32 metres long, 16 metres wide and nearly 6 metres high.

The racks provide storage locations for 160 tools, three metres wide and weighing up to 5 tonnes each. Adjustable storage levels are fitted with fork entry bars to store un-palletised tools of various sizes.

The building is fitted with GRP roof lights and 3.5 metre wide and 4 metre high roller shutter doors, as well as fire exit doors.

The company says: “We build complete rack clad buildings, where cantilever racking or heavy duty racking forms the integral structure of the building. Rack Clad Buildings can show a considerable saving against a traditionally constructed building with racking purchased separately.”
