Heavyweight certified

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Magnum Optimum, the folding large container (FLC) from Schoeller Allibert, has been awarded certification under DIN EN 13626 for a 750kg unit load – reportedly making it the only FLC approved by the automotive industry for the distribution of heavy loads up to 750kg.

The container was subjected to stringent independent mechanical tests by the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN), to evaluate the ability of Magnum Optimum to withstand payloads of up to 750kg within the normal distribution environment, including forklift handling and stacking to five units high.

The test schedule was carried out at temperatures of 23, 40 and -20ºC and included: bottom-deck bending test; stacking test; free fall vertical impact tests; vertical vibration test of triple stack; and incline fork impact tests.
