Image recognition systems are increasingly being used in conjunction with conveyor systems, particularly where just-in-time logistics is implemented.
The EyeCheck 2xxx serial smart camera from EVT features Texas Instruments OMAP 3 processors, which contain a powerful ARM-Cortex-A8 core. The cameras provide a high computing power with up to 1 GHz clock speed and have interfaces with 100 Mbit LAN; 2 x USB 2.0, RS232, digital I/O. Moreover, mouse, keyboard and monitor can be directly connected to the camera.
Additional features of the EyeVision software enable the 360° contour, barcode and datamatrix examination and allow count and check functions.
