Key shelving win
Birmingham-based manufacturer completes international storage project.
British steel shelving and racking specialist ShelvingDirect is celebrating the completion of a successful international project with the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia.
The Birmingham-based manufacturer was approached by architects Gardner Wetherill Associates to participate in a development that saw the merger of two of the university’s faculties – Art and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health – into one building.
To utilise the University’s CB10 building, which would be used by both faculties, ShelvingDirect was asked to supply its Mondrian docking and storage solution and the award-winning Fetch mobile caddy.
The result was a hot desking system which gives students an enhanced study experience. Mondrian and Fetch allows users to benefit from a flexible workspace across the University’s many study and communal areas.
The project has been deemed a huge success by the University, and the mobile workspace solution is expected to be utilised as part of similar future projects across the world.
William White, Managing Director at ShelvingDirect says: “The project with the University of Technology in Sydney was a great opportunity to showcase the flexibility of Mondrian and the Fetch mobile caddy as a tool for institutions and companies across the world.
We are pleased that the development has been such a success, and we look forward to working with other organisations to implement similar solutions in the future.”
