Logistics service underpins bathroom supplier’s success

Bathroom towel rail and designer radiator supplier Towelrads
is benefiting from logistics services from Delivered.net. Towelrads has seen
its business expand thanks to reliable, on-time and careful deliveries of its
specialised products to house builders and stockists throughout the UK. Each
night Towelrads ship hundreds of consignments, with parcels going through the
APC Overnight network and pallets through TPN.
“Delivered provides many advantages to us as it is a local
company that is part of the national APC Overnight and TPN delivery networks.
This means if we need to speak directly to someone about a specific delivery –
wherever it is being delivered in the UK – we deal with a local service-focused
depot, not a call centre. This is fundamental to our business, because we pride
ourselves on good customer service. Our relationship with Delivered supports
our goals of reliable, on-time delivery,” says Paul Hamilton, sales director
for Towelrads.
Delivered also provides warehousing and pick and pack
services for Towelrads’ larger products such as electric powered and column
radiators. These tend to be slower moving products that would otherwise take up
valuable warehouse space at Towelrads’ own distribution centre.
“The additional warehousing and direct despatch service we
get from Delivered is excellent. It means all of our bulkier products ship
direct from the Delivered warehouse, saving us time as well as freeing up much
needed space for our faster moving items. It works very well for us,” adds
Hamilton.
To streamline administration, Delivered has integrated its
NetDespatch shipping system with Towelrads’ Sage business system. As customers
place orders, the despatch and delivery information updates Delivered’s system
and produces parcel or pallet labels automatically. There is no duplication of
information, saving Towelrads staff both time and effort.
