Low weight truck crane
Birmingham Crane Hire have taken delivery of a Boecker AK44/4000 Truck Crane, which is being used on work that had previously been undertaken by 25/30T truck cranes and 2 axle all-terrain cranes.
The lightweight (GVW 15t) and low outrigger loadings enable the crane to be set up and put to work more rapidly than conventional cranes and work in locations without the need for road closures or outrigger matting.
The standard commercial MAN carrier is also said to be proving far more cost effective to operate than complex all terrain carriers.
