Manual rotation

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Packline Materials Handling has release a clamp attachment which is designed to handle rolls or drums with a range of dimensions.

The clamp attachment has been designed to provide optimum flexibility with the lifting and rotation of a wide range of items. For example, the machine can handle rolls which have diameters ranging from 100mm to 375mm and drums from 375mm to 600mm diameter while weighing up to a maximum of 300kg.

This attachment has two sets of rollers of which the inner set can be swiftly fitted or removed without tooling. The inner rollers are for the smaller diameter items, the outer rollers enable the larger items to be handled. The inner rollers are secured by positive location and each set has a pair of index plungers (turn and lock location plungers), providing a swift, simple and secure action.

All items being handled are securely gripped by the external diameter. A handwheel provides the clamping and unclamping actions with easy operation and precise control.

This mechanism has a torque limiter fitted so that the clamping rollers do not over or under tighten onto the reel. This enables the operator to lift and transport reels with complete confidence and safety.

The machine is suitable for the food industry and other hygienic applications and features FDA approved nitrile rubber rollers.

The attachment is backed up by a full bespoke design service so ensuring that the right solution can be made to suit most reels.

All Packline attachments are fully interchangeable and can be easily fitted or removed from any model of Compac lifting machine that is fitted with the attachment quick release system.
