Meachers appoints Jamie Terris to management team
Southampton based Meachers Global Logistics has strengthened its board of directors with the appointment of Jamie Terris as fleet director.
The appointment comes on the back of a highly successful year for Meachers, which has seen it achieve substantial growth across its core business areas and invest significantly in its modern fleet of vehicles and trailers.
Jamie Terris has over 25 years of industry experience having held positions with Meachers and it’s subsidiary KL Commercials.
Jamie Terris said: "It’s safe to say that trucks are in my blood. I’ve held various positions across the business from the HGV workshop through to the traffic office and I’ve helped to develop the fleet since 2005. My new role will be working as part of the management team to ensure that we run the latest and most efficient vehicles."
Managing director, Stuart Terris, added: “Having invested in the region of £1/2 million in our fleet this year, it is important to have an experienced pair of hands at the wheel. No one understands the Meachers fleet better than Jamie and his experience is a huge asset to the future development of the business.”
The firm currently runs a fleet of over 70 vehicles and trailers from strategic locations in Southampton and Derby, providing full load distribution and a next-day delivery service for any size consignment across the UK.
