Mixed order picking solution for steel stockholders

Sidetracker has entered its sixth decade of manufacturing multi-directional lift trucks, with the third generation of family ownership.

It is now a diversified engineering company, with a range of custom manufactured materials handling equipment available, including reach trucks from 3 to 6 tonnes, powered platforms, and man-up order picking machines. Recently introduced is a range of pallet handling equipment, manufactured to eliminate health and safety risk, for blue chip companies.

The company adds: "Our outstandingly robust, custom-built range of narrow aisle sideloaders and reach trucks have been updated both in appearance and function, with a full range of available colours and new paint schemes. Auto turn steering has been added to improve operational speed, and make operator control easier and more efficient."

More recent introductions include two man-up order picking trucks for mixed order picking at steel stockholders. This system offers a major time saving by eliminating the usual process of bringing bulk stocks to floor level, manually picking a few sections from the bulk stock, returning it to the racking and repeating the process. Instead, mixed bundles can be picked at height, banded, trade-weighed and labelled, ready for despatch to customers.

The company concludes: "As well as having a long and successful past, we are forging ahead with new designs and products to match the changing needs of modern industry. This is reflected in our brand new website – www.sidetracker.co.uk."
