Network Rail invests in plant storage

The stores are constructed with 2mm profiled mild sheet steel over 50mm x 50mm x 3mm RHS. The design features a fully welded leakproof sump to a depth of 190mm over the entire base as well as flame arrested ventilation with galvanised flooring and shelving and double full width doors with flush locks.

Most are finished in NetworkRail light grey aside from the Thermite store which is bright red due to volatile contents. The interior of the welding unit is fitted with tracks so welding carts can enter and exit smoothly. The structures typically store lubricants, telecom spares, fencing, signal project items, electrification and plant, tree cutters etc.
