New pallet eco grading

Posted on Tuesday 2 February 2021

EXPORTA IS ramping up its commitment to the environment in 2021 by introducing a new pallet eco grading system to allow customers to make the right choice when buying a plastic pallet.

The plastic pallet eco rating system allows users to choose a plastic pallet in the full knowledge of it’s effect on the environment.

The grades are; Eco – the plastic pallet can be recycled at the end of it’s life;  Eco Plus – the pallet is made from recycled material and can be recycled after use; Eco Max – as well as being made from recycled material and recyclable, the pallet can also be repaired.

Exporta has also once again achieved ISO14001 certification.

The company says: “This is great news for our team who put in the hard work to make sure being conscious about the environment is present in our everyday activities and in our product procurement.

“We will continue to offer our pallet recycling scheme, meaning our customers can return their used plastic pallets to us, where they will turned in to plastic pellets used to make new pallets. We will arrange for collection of the pallets to be recycled. The pallets are cleaned and compounded into granules. Plastic pallets last up to 10 years, then the same pallets can be recycled for future use. 98% of our pallets sold are made from recycled plastic.”

Exporta partners with UK-based recycling specialists, Plastic Expert, to offer this free service to its customers.
