In the historical heart of Venice mosaic tile producer, Angelo Orsoni, is benefiting new hoisting plant that completely ‘disappears’ when not in use. All the hoisting equipment – the EUROCHAIN VL10 hoist, ZHR Heavy duty Hand chain block, ME winches and PLV lever-hoists – was supplied by Verlinde.
The new hoisting plant is used to loading and unloading palletised freight from vessels to mainland. These operations were previously performed using vessels fitted with cranes, which was costly and necessitated special permission from the Water Space office of the Municipality since the vessels exceeded the width allowed in the channel.
The hoist also allows the company to stack two pallets, making the most of the available space.
