Proximity warning system

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

In a working environment where employees and industrial vehicles have to work in close proximity on a day to day basis, implementing a system like Avonwood’s ZoneSafe can help to prevent accidents between pedestrian workers and forklifts – especially where visibility is impaired due to heavy loads or blind spots around the forklift truck.

Using RFID transponders, ZoneSafe is designed to help reduce the risk of both forklift to pedestrian worker and forklift to forklift collisions. ZoneSafe alerts forklift operators when RFID transponders worn by pedestrian workers are detected by a unit installed on a forklift truck.

The system can also be installed at intersections to illuminate LED’s or beacons providing a warning to pedestrians of an approaching forklift truck.
