Racking solution for warehouse consolidation
An extensive wide aisle pallet racking solution from storage specialists, Link51, has helped AMG Group, one of the UK’s leading outdoor companies, consolidate their supply chain from three distribution centres to a single 130,000 sq ft warehouse.
The facility is located at Westway Park, Renfrew in Scotland.
In designing and installing the racking, Link51 overcame certain structural restrictions to fully optimise the allocated space. The installation, consisting of 21 runs of wide aisle racking and providing AMG with 10,500 pallet locations, was fully completed and commissioned on time, despite a tight installation timeframe due to stock being centralised on-site.
“Being able to consolidate our stock under one roof has a number of key benefits attached, not least some important commercial savings. Link51 delivered exactly what they said they were going to do within timescales and to budget; on that basis we are comfortable with the relationship with Link51 and will undoubtedly use them again on future projects,” commented Bernie McGown, AMG Group’s HR & operations director.
Stocking a wide variety of outdoor products, the new site streamlines AMG’s distribution operation for retailers and consumers, while enabling the business to realise future growth plans and achieve its full potential.
