Southgate buys McKindy
The Southgate Packaging Group has acquired UK strapping manufacturer McKindy Strap, in a move said to achieve its vision of becoming the UK’s leading supplier of strapping equipment, tools and consumables.
McKindy former managing director Indy Singh says “This is a great opportunity for our customers to benefit from Southgate’s wide portfolio of strapping products and their extensive stockholding, and their market share will benefit from their entry into strap manufacturing.”
Negotiations were completed as 2014 came to an end and coincided with the expansion of the Optimax strapping machinery range, which is available exclusively through Southgate Packaging approved distributors. New products in the range include equipment designed for use in specific environments including timber and building materials, food processing and printed media industries.
